Paul Harwood (AKA Paul Starwood) has spent a decade striving to mesh professionalism with recreation. Once again, please don’t let the nickname fool you, Paul is a skillful, witty and entertaining leader, on top of being a solid dude. His love affair with rivers began at the tender age of 13-years-old, when he discovered whitewater kayaking. Since then, his kayaking and rafting career has taken him around the globe to places like Nepal, New Zealand, Honduras and the United States. Over the years, he’s become a master of the liquid world, with an unparalleled understanding of river mechanics and swift-water safety. With Columbia River Safaris, Paul has redirected that ability to new ends as the River Operations Manager. He is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and passion with both staff and guests of Columbia River Safaris.
